"In the process of trying to secure Charles' release, I have met many kind-hearted people who have clearly distinguished between right and wrong. They wanted to give their best wishes to Charles but were afraid that the prison would confiscate their letters, so they sent the cards directly to the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai to be routed to Charles." Ms. Yeong-ching Foo, January 22, 2004

Dr. Charles Li’s fiancée, Ms. Yeong-ching Foo, gives interviews to reporters after the press conference in front of the Chinese consulate in San Francisco.

Please Help Rescue My Fiancé

I first met Charles more than a year ago at a social gathering at Stanford University. He is a very kind and sincere person who always helps me when I have difficulties. He always looks into himself and tries to become a better person following the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.

After receiving a medical degree in China, Charles came to the United States, and began graduate study in 1991 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a full scholarship. He graduated in 1995 with a Masters degree in Physiology, and then went to Harvard to do research. He is now living in Menlo Park, California where he manages his own business.

I cannot believe that the Chinese government would want to arrest such a kind and honest person. Of course, I worry for Charles’ safety. I care for him very much. But I know he has done nothing wrong, and I believe he will come home soon.

Friends, family and fellow practitioners of Falun Gong hold a press conference in front of the Chinese consulate calling for the immediate release of U.S. Citizen, Dr. Charles Li -- a medical doctor wrongfully arrested in China.

People all over the world know that Falun Gong is good and that this persecution is evil. People can see through the lies and the propaganda for themselves. Even in China, the

government and people know in their hearts that the persecution is wrong and cannot last. How long can people with ulterior motives cover up the truth?

Charles is an American citizen and has done nothing wrong. He should be released immediately. Please help bring my fiancé home.
